Research and Booking

Paul and I had an overnight layover in Dubai, and as part of our business class ticket through Dubai Connect… we were given a complimentary hotel stay at the Le Meridien Hotel.

To find out more about our experiences with the Dubai Connect Service, check our blog post HERE.

Our quick Emirates Chauffeur Driver service from Dubai Airport to Le Meridien… got us to the hotel just before midnight.

We noticed lots of palm trees and greenery around the hotel. And we suspected that the Emirates had their own entrance and section for customers… as there was a huge Emirates sign at the entrance.

The Location

The Le Meridien Dubai Airport Hotel is about 2km away from Dubai Airport. There’s also a conference centre at the hotel. So this would be convenient for business or personal functions.

And thanks to our Dubai Connect Chauffeur Driver Service… it was a quick and efficient ride to the hotel.

Within a few kilometres of this 5 star luxury hotel are shopping malls, and business facilities.

Unfortunately we didn’t get an opportunity to have a look around Dubai. So maybe on another visit we can elaborate!

Check In

Once we arrived at the Le Meridien Dubai Airport Hotel… a couple of the hotel staff members helped to get our luggage and take them inside.

Once inside we noticed how cool the temperature was, which was a great relief from the 38 degree celsius weather!

We handed our 3 vouchers that we got at Dubai airport over to the check in staff to process. Then, they offered to make us some meals or prepare some snacks if we were hungry. Yet, we declined as we were tired from the Emirates flight.

Also included in our complimentary overnight stay was free buffet breakfast. And it opened at 5:30am, so we could make a quick dash to breakfast and try it out… before we had to leave for the airport.

After the check in process was done, we noticed how luxurious the decor was in the hotel…

And from there it was a few minutes walk to our hotel room…

Even though we were tired, we took some photos of our hotel room…

The Room

Once we opened the door to the hotel room, we immediately noticed how cool it was in the room. They’d already put the air conditioning on for us, which was great.

On the right of the room directly after the entrance was a cupboard. And inside the cupboard included bathrobes, slippers, ironing board, safe, and more.

Then after that was a coffee pod machine, tea, and 2 complimentary bottles of water.

Then, beneath that was a small fridge with a range of mini bar items that we could buy.

Once we walked further into the room we were surprised at how big the room was! And we liked the contemporary type feel and décor. Plus, the carpet was soft under our feet as we walked.

The bed was big, had 4 lush pillows, a fluffy doona, and was extremely comfortable. On either side of the bed were side tables and lamps.

And next to the bed was a large couch with several cushions.

Opposite all this was a big flat screen TV, with a big desk and chair beside that.

We could even lift the middle section of the desk and here’s what we saw…

There were also sheer curtains as well as thick blackout curtains… which were great for blocking out the morning sun if we needed it. Yet, because we got up early it was still dark.

The Bathroom

The first thing we noticed was how bright, white and clean it was in the bathroom. There were a couple of bath towels, hand towels and face washers. Plus, there was a big deep soaking bath tub.

There were some amenities including liquid soap, shampoo, shower cap and vanity kit. Yet, there were no dental kits, which was surprising… unless they were hidden somewhere else!

The toilet was separated in its own cubicle, and the shower had a rain shower head, as well as a hand held device.

Breakfast At The Le Meridien Hotel Dubai Airport

Buffet breakfast was served at Yalumba Restaurant from 5:30am to 10:30am. And as we had our Emirates chauffeur driver service booked for 6:00am… we thought we’d have a quick look and try some of the foods.

We didn’t even wait for the waitress to serve our coffee before we headed to the buffet stations!

The breakfast buffet spread was huge. And there were lots of items that we would have had second, third or even more helpings!

We’ve had many 5 star luxury hotel breakfasts in our time. Yet, if you’re at the Le Meridian Dubai Airport Hotel, this is a must try.

Wifi Speed Test

When we did a wifi speed test for the Le Meridien Hotel, we clocked up 28.7 mbps for the download speed.

And for the wifi upload speed it was 28.6 mbps. That’s probably one of the best for a 5 star hotel we’ve been so far, that we can recall.

For a short overnight stay, it was luxurious and welcome after an 8 hour or so flight.

And being able to stay in the Le Meridien, a 5 star luxury hotel for free… with complimentary buffet breakfast and chauffeur driver service was great.

We recommend you put the Le Meridien on your shortlist of hotels near Dubai airport.
